Every family is unique. I love helping families of all makeups succeed in their goals within the roles each member fills.

What Is Bodywork?

Bodywork involves therapeutic touch or manipulation of the body using specialized techniques to reduce tension and improve function. While many providers offer bodywork, as a doctor of physical therapy with a fellowship in manual therapy I provide advanced expertise in the implementation of these techniques. With a breadth of training in multiple schools of thought, and the ability to change on the fly, I provide a unique treatment plan to every child I see. Further, I see treatment as a bridge to educate and empower parents on what they can do between sessions to help ease the struggles each family is facing.

 I can help you with:

  • Tongue Tie
  • Breast / Bottle Feeding Difficulty
  • Mobility Restrictions
  • Colic
  • Sleep Difficulty
  • Reflux
  • Bonding and Attachment
  • Managing Stress Around Feeding and Sleep
  • The Adjustment to Parenthood.

 My Promise:

  • To build collaborative connection with your family.
  • To capitalize on what you already do well.
  • To adapt research to your needs

  • To protect your rights and values as a parent
  • To make care accessible at home or in office

I do not accept insurance but will provide documentation for you to submit to your insurance company.

I serve the greater Philadelphia area in Pennsylvania through home visits and my office in center city Philadelphia. Please contact me for more information.

My Story

I have many jobs. I am a board certified orthopaedic specialist in physical therapy and a fellow of the American Academy of Manual Physical Therapy. In the past I have been a clinical director at an outpatient clinic, and treated patients in both outpatient and home care settings.  I also teach in Jefferson University’s Physical therapy Program and Orthopaedic Residency where I have the honor of mentoring the next generation of physical therapists.   But, perhaps my most important job is shown in the photo above.

Dr. Nichols is excellent. He sorted through my symptoms and gave me a routine to follow every day with noticeable improvements after a few weeks. He guided me through the process with realistic expectations and helped me to be more aware of how I use my body. I would recommend him to anyone!

Dr Nichols is an attentive and knowledgeable physical therapist. He made me feel very comfortable from the moment I set up the appointment, and I could tell that he takes the time and extra effort to get to know his patients and their specific concerns. The visits are problem-focused, never rushed, and very useful in terms of understanding my body. Everyone could benefit from a doctor as caring and invested in his patients.

“[Dr. Nichols] is thoughtful, patient centered, and holistic in his approach. His model of 1:1 care is unlike any other place you will go. No sharing your therapist while they work with other people. No PT assistants. Dr. Nichols considers the whole picture and makes a huge difference in less time!
